Every year we do this event in the Spring and Fall. Special Parent’s Night Out is one of our events that we don’t miss. This is going to be a busy weekend with another event we are attending and we’re splitting up the team for the weekend. They have all of their spots filled for parents which is a testament to the need for events such as this.
The organizers are in need of volunteers to serve food at the main site. We got this email from them last week:
We are pleased to report that once again we have received an overwhelmingly positive response for our upcoming Special Parent’s Afternoon Out on Saturday, October 10th: Over 125 families, (240+ children) are scheduled to attend as our guests – once again breaking all prior guest attendance records for our fall event!
With such a great response – we need an even greater response from potential volunteers within our community. We are in need of over 250 volunteers to help with everything from food preparation, setup, cleanup, entertainment and most importantly one-on-one child care assignments for the afternoon.
With your help we would like to distribute the attached volunteer/community service flyer to members of your organization, friends, neighbors and co-workers – all are welcome and encouraged to take part. If you are able to volunteer and have not yet formally informed us that you can help out, simply reply to this email with your contact information (or) email your contact information to SPNO.VOLUNTEER at gmail dot com , (please type ‘Volunteer’ in the subject line). Teenagers 12 and up are welcome and encouraged to volunteer (In addition to a FREE Volunteer T-Shirt, a certificate of participation will be awarded to those seeking credit toward community service hours). Volunteers should arrive by 11:15 am on Saturday, October 10th.
Send them an email if you can volunteer to give families and children a day to enjoy our food and activities while parent’s spend some much needed time together.
