What did Ancient Greeks eat?
Our shrimp souvlaki is a favorite for many of our clients. When we announce that we are having this item as a special, many clients line up. Greeks have incorporated seafood in their meals since the beginning of food history.
Although meat had it’s place on the dinner table during holidays, seafood was the main and easiest protein for Greeks to serve with fruits and vegetables. Any animal such as pork or beef had to be offered as a sacrifice before cooking and eating. You can imagine that it was just easier to catch fish and serve without all the traditional protocols of the Ancient Greeks.
As you may have guessed by the picture, our Double Shrimp Souvlaki is served with yellow rice and Greek Salad. Order this through Seamless or Food To Eat. You can also call us at 929-600-1111 to order for pick-up or delivery.
