We’re coming back from an awesome weekend where we celebrated Greek Independence Day on Sunday with our family and friends! The actual date was March 25th. It’s important to remember our beautiful history, culture, and traditions. I was so lucky to have my daughter enjoy her first Greek Independence Day parade.
As you can imagine, lots of music, food, dancing, and did I mention food. It was good to take time to get together with the community we love. We display our flag proudly at the truck everyday. We honor our family especially our Uncle Gussy for starting at the corner of 51st and Park with just a food cart.
We’ll be serving the Kokkinisto with rice and salad. The Kokkinisto is braised in a red wine sauce. Yes, it is a tender and flavorful as it sounds. Make sure you order the Baklava early because this always seems to go fast.
