We love our children and want nothing for the best. When an organization comes along that incorporates Art to help children with their life situations, we jump on board and help out! Variety the Children’s Charity of New York had a campaign going last week called, Local Eats to Benefit Local Youth, and were using the hashtag #variEATy.
Local businesses and foodtrucks were donating sales from certain menu items or total sales for the week to benefit this organization that does the following:
…when you eat at these local food vendors you’ll also be helping us on our mission to transform the lives of children through the arts. With each purchase, a percentage of proceeds will be donated back to Variety New York ensuring that over 20,000 of New York City’s homeless youth, foster care children, LGBTQ teens, recent refugees, juvenile justice involved adolescents, youth on the autism spectrum, and young people experiencing varying levels of post-traumatic stress disorder receive access to high quality arts programs! Click here to check out the programs you’ll be supporting during Varieaty week.
Your donation counts
Unfortunately we couldn’t participate last week because the United Nations General Assembly was in town and parking for us was not possible in the area. We decided to participate this week with providing 10% of all sales for this week to be donated to the Variety of New York Chapter. Every time you eat this week until Oct 2nd, you will be helping out local children obtain services they need.
We thank Variety the Children’s Charity of New York for reaching out to us to help them out! Not only are they availabe in New York, but look for this organization in New Jersey and Connecticut as well.
