“Pork Chops and applesauce.” Peter Brady loved it back in his Humphrey Bogart days. If you’re too young to understand it, Google it. It’s timeless humor. But back to the pork chops.
Okay, here’s the whole truth: we aren’t actually dishing up any applesauce these days— not that there’s anything wrong with that, and who knows what may come— but we’re still offering a variety of Snapple flavors, fresh out of the icebox, on the daily. And it will be the perfect way to wash down a classic that’s coming back into the rotation: Mom’s Pork Chops. Perfectly seasoned, quality cuts, and we keep it simple by pairing our juicy chops with our Greek style, just-crispy-enough Oven Roasted Potatoes.
Is your mouth watering yet? You’re not alone in that thought, my friend. Our tender Pork Chops are a traditional favorite. People are lining up around the block for them, literally; so if you want to be sure to get ‘em while they’re hot, it would be a wise idea to go on our website and pre-order. You can pick up your order at one of our trucks in Midtown, Downtown, or Long Island, or we’ll even deliver them right to you. Your tastebuds, your coworkers … the list goes on. They’ll thank you.
But hold the presses, because that is not our only big news. If you were around the truck in October (does anyone else love a New York fall like we do?), you may have seen a film crew and the occasional photographer hanging around — not all that unusual for the Big Apple in general, but it’s not a daily occurrence at our trucks. We couldn’t talk about it at the time, as much as we wanted to (you have no idea), so now, humor us as we share:
The Big Reveal.
Snapple and Uncle Gussy’s, two born and bred New York companies, teamed up for a Snapple ad campaign called “Born in New York, Made for Everyone.” They filmed it at our Treat Cart, let Franscesco and I test out our acting chops, and we love the way it turned out. We’re proud to have taken part in a campaign that supports the same ideas we do, especially for a company with Snapple’s history.
I mean, consider the similarities: we were founded just a year apart, back in the 1970s, both in NYC. They’re fun (check out their Real Facts on their website and underneath their bottle lids) and so are we. Their flavor decisions are influenced by customer input and so are ours. It’s a match made in heaven
Snapple and Uncle Gussy’s, Pork Chops and applesauce (well, okay, in our case, Oven Roasted Potatoes). They just FIT. And they taste great, too. There’s also that. Seriously, though, like we said before, we were honored to be a part of the whole thing, and are still proud to serve Snapple to our customers every day.
NY loves Snapple.
America loves Snapple.
Uncle Gussy’s loves Snapple.
